Unique Illinois: Game Studies and Design

GSD 101 is a course at the University of Illinois where students from across campus—from dance to computer science—collaborate to design and build a life-sized board game.

Set in the Hartley Selections Garden at the University of Illinois Arboretum, the project transforms the outdoor space into an interactive, immersive game environment that explores creative applications of game design.

Unique Illinois: Game Studies and Design was nominated for a Mid-America Emmy in 2025.

My time at Big Ten Network (BTN) coincided with the production of the Unique Illinois video series, including the episode highlighting Game Studies and Design. I collaborated with the BTN videography team to capture b-roll, assist with interviews, and support equipment setup and operation during field shoots.
